Wick lies a long way north, but that shouldn't dissuade you from journeying to this very special part of Scotland. The town has a fascinating history, previously enjoying lofty status as both a royal burgh and as the premier fishing port in Europe.
Of course, no trip to Wick should go by without a tour of the Pulteney Distillery and there are numerous nearby coastal walks and beaches to be enjoyed.
The surrounding Caithness countryside boasts a rugged beauty which bursts with colour in the summer months, and the Orkney islands are within easy reach by ferry. Fishing, cycling and golf are among the other activities which can be enjoyed, while Wick is well served by road, rail and air.
