Old Pulteney with a twist

Stirred, not shaken, and most definitely on the rocks, the latest whisky cocktail to hit Scotland’s restaurants and bars is Old Pulteney Mint Honey Royal.

Inventive cocktails are a plus point on the drinks menu in café bars and clubs and recently it was the turn of Old Pulteney 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky to get the cocktail treatment.

Reacting to the growing popularity of Old Pulteney, Inver House decided it was time to add a little something to this classic malt and called in Edinburgh’s famous mixologist, Chris Langan. Chris mixes up the well renowned cocktails at the Montpelier Group bars and restaurants, and was delighted to be given a licence to mix Old Pulteney. With both the refreshing summer zing of champagne and just a hint of winter toddy, the Old Pulteney Mint Honey Royal was an inspirational creation. It is bound to prick the taste buds of the cocktail consumer no matter what the season.

Blending the malt with sugar and Scottish honey; adding mint leaves and champagne, as well as crushed ice, and served in a slim highball glass, the Mint Honey Royal is a very classy cocktail, adding that perfect touch to the smooth, clean taste of the malt.

Old Pulteney’s Scottish-based ‘Brand Ambassador’, Neil Berrie, who has been developing brand awareness in the more exclusive bars and restaurants throughout Edinburgh and Glasgow, has been promoting the idea of classic cocktails using Old Pulteney and this new cocktail could be just the first of many creations.
