Wrap up some Old Pulteney for Christmas
21/11/2002
A new range of packaging has been developed by Inver House Distillers for its premium single malt whisky, Old Pulteney. Ideal for the Christmas market, a twin pack comprising two 50cl bottles of Old Pulteney 12 year old and Old Pulteney Liqueur comes in a handy carry-pack featuring images of the sea and the herring fishing industry, whilst a miniature collection pack includes three 5cl bottles of 12 year old, 20 year old cask strength and Old Pulteney Liqueur. The package opens like an antique book with the bottles framed in a window incorporating the traditional Old Pulteney herring drifter image.
Targeted at prestige retail outlets, duty free outlets and specialist whisky shops, the packs retail at £29.99 for the twin pack and £12.99 for the miniatures, making them perfect Christmas presents.
They are of course ideal presents at any time of year and particularly for tourists looking for something a little different to take back home. Old Pulteney single malt whisky is now an established brand in the UK and abroad with global sales up by three per cent on the year to date.
Commenting on this continuing success, brand manager Margaret Mary Timpson states: “Old Pulteney has always adopted an imaginative and dynamic approach to its marketing activities and new and innovative packaging is all part of this approach.
“Christmas sales look set to be higher than ever with the year-end press campaign for Old Pulteney ensuring a further increase in brand awareness. The campaign will run throughout November and December with an innovative maritime theme to the adverts.”
