Maritime Malt Backs 1720 Sportsboat European Championship.
Scotland's Genuine Maritime Malt Old Pulteney has today announced (Thursday 29 August) that it has secured title sponsorship of this year's 1720 Sportsboat European Championship in Largs, Ayrshire.
Taking place from 31 August - 4 September, the event is hosted by the Scottish Sailing Institute in Largs in association with the 1720 Sportsboat Class Association, and will welcome many of the UK's leading yachts and their crews, plus many more spectators to Scotland.
Old Pulteney 12 year old Single Malt Scotch Whisky - which is produced by Inver House Distillers at Scotland's most northerly mainland distillery in the old fishing town of Wick - has signed the deal as part of an ongoing association with sailing and maritime life throughout the UK.
The Old Pulteney team will host a number of prize-givings and events throughout the competition, and will contribute to hospitality for participants, in addition to backing one of Scotland's most promising young yachtsmen, Ruairidh Scott.
Margaret Mary Timpson, Brand Manager for Old Pulteney commented: 'We have a long standing association with sailing, and as one of the leading events of its kind in the UK yachting calendar, the 1720 European Championship is a perfect partner for Old Pulteney. The 1720 Class is one of the most exciting on the Sportsboat race circuit, and we are all very much looking forward to seeing all the action unfold in Largs in September.'
