You can imagine the excitement here in the distillery when we heard that our Old Pulteney 21 year old has won one of the industry’s highest accolades – World Whisky of the Year – in Jim Murray’s 2012 Whisky Bible Awards.  In a class of some 1,500 whiskies, it scooped the top prize, as well as along three other awards – Scotch Whisky of the Year, Single Malt (Multiple Casks) of the Year and Single Malt (16-21 Years) of the Year. World-renowned whisky connoisseur Murray nosed and tasted his way through all types of whisky to create his global best-selling ratings guide.

He gave Old Pulteney 21-Years-Old a glowing review, commenting that the single malt is:

By far and away one of the great whiskies of 2012, absolutely exploding from the glass with vitality, charisma and class.

Our Senior Brand Manager Margaret Mary Clarke (known to us all here as ‘MM’) is “over the moon” with the quadruple award. And so she should be! It’s a recognition of all the passion and expertise that goes into every single drop of Old Pulteney Single Malt.
